Grosseto
Grosseto is Siena’s unpretentious sister. It is the province capital. Monte Antico belongs to the province of Grosseto. At just a half an hour ride you can enjoy the real Tuscan life. You can do some shopping, eat in a restaurant or simply walk in the centre. Market is on Thursday morning.
Siena
Siena is at 50 km from Monte Antico. You can go to Siena by car, taking the SS 223, or by bus from Paganico. The weekly market is held on Wednesday, you can find many stands with clothes, foodstuff, specialities, etc. It’s a great pleasure sauntering in the center of Siena, looking at the wonderful shops and being absorbed by the bustle of the Sienese people and the many tourists. It’s naturally worth visiting the famous Piazza del Campo, having an aperitif on one of its many terraces and looking at the people. You should certainly visit the cathedral!
Pienza
Pienza. The little city of Pienza is listed under the UNESCO World Heritage. The trip by car takes one hour (SR 2) and brings you to the most beautiful areas of the vineyards of Montalcino, with chestnut and olive trees. Enjoy a delicious lunch in Pienza. The Pecorino of Pienza is one of the best sheep cheeses of Tuscany.

Terme del Petriolo
Le Terme del Petriolo si trovano in località Monticiano, nel cuore della valle dell’Ombrone e sono facilmente raggiungibili in macchina in appena 30 minuti. Si tratta di una località termale dalla lunga tradizione storica, conosciuta già fin dall’Antica Roma.
Le acque che sgorgano dalla sorgente situata sulla riva del torrente Farma sono ricche di proprietà terapeutiche e con una temperatura pari a 43° sono il luogo ideale per rilassarsi durante tutto l’anno.
Si può optare per un bagno nelle vasche libere oppure usufruire delle vasche termali del vicino stabilimento. Per chi lo desidera all’interno dello stabilimento termale, oltre all’uso delle vasche, è possibile usufruire anche di un servizio SPA, scegliendo tra varie tipologie di massaggio o di fangoterapia.
Sono il luogo ideale per rigenerare corpo e spirito, per dedicare una giornata al proprio benessere fisico e mentale, per staccare la spina dallo stress quotidiano.

Seven km South of Grossetto is the Natural Park of the Maremma. The park extends for 25 km along the sea and there’s a rich flora and fauna. You can book a guided tour in Alberese. The park is open 365 days of the year.
Daniel Spoerri Garden
Nature and Art. In Seggiano is the delightful garden of the Swiss artist Daniel Spoerri. Even along the way you will be inspired by the olive trees, chestnut trees, little villages and sheep flocks on the rocky slopes. The garden itself is unique. Walking along the vast territory you can admire various surprising and playful works of art, which have been ably exposed in the landscape. A great pleasure! Have a picnic or a meal at the museum’s restaurant or in the nearby village.
Tarot Garden
The sculpture garden is in Garavicchio, Capalbio, approx. one hour and a half from Monte Antico by car. Going to Grossetto take the direction to the South, for Rome. Near Orbetello is Garavicchio-Capalbio (SS 223 and S1). The garden is opened from 1st April till 14th October, from 14.30 to 19.30. You will pass a nice afternoon in the middle of a fantastic world, full of forms and coloured characters, that the great artist and companion of Jean Tinguely created at the end of the 70’s.

Castiglione della Pescaia
The seaside is only 50 km away and you arrive in one hour. For example Castiglione della Pescaia (SS 223 or SS73) is a very nice, little town to visit. Between Grossetto and Castiglione is the almost endless beach with pinewoods, where you can swim in the clean sea or doing long walks. At Castiglione della Pescaia you can eat good fish food and other specialties.
Wineroad Montecucco
You will spend your holidays in the region of the Montecucco wine (Strada del Vino Montecucco). Nearby Mount Amiata is the region of the most famous wine of Montalcino. Visiting the many wineries and tasting the new vintage wine will make your day unforgettable. Wineries are marked on the road.
Etruscan site in Roselle
30 km far from Monte Antico, in Roselle (SS 223, approx. 10 km from Grossetto) you can visit a very interesting Etruscan site. Already in the 7th century B.C. Roselle had a well-developed life with ceramic works. The archaeological park is open all year.
Abbazia Sant’Antimo
Nearby Montalcino, one hour from Monte Antico, is the Monastery of S.Antimo. It is managed by Benedictine monks. It’s recommended to visit the church and the surroundings – a pleasant trip indeed.
